The digitization of economic and social life is continuous and driven by the exponentially accelerating development of digital technologies. The recent coronavirus pandemic has also given a great impetus to the digital transformation of society in Greece and around the world.
This issue aspires to contribute to a better information, analysis and understanding of the developments and the perspectives and opportunities that these developments create, especially for our young people. The harsh reality is that Greece lags significantly behind almost all its partners in the European Union, as both the European Commission’s Digital Economy & Society Index and the Digital Transformation Scorecard index show, in most areas related to digitization and digital workforce training. It is vital for the future of Hellenism as a whole, that Greece achieves high rates of economic growth in the coming years. This goal will simply be unattainable without a qualitative leap forward in terms of digitization at all levels.
