“Careers in International Organizations in Geneva and the European Union”

Group and individual speed mentoring sessions with experienced professionals in the field, regarding careers in the International Organizations in Geneva, the institutions of the European Union, and in the private sector related to these organizations.

Online Event: June 11, 2024 – 18:00 to 20:30 Swiss time.

The pioneering event by ALLILON in collaboration with the Permanent Greek Representation in Geneva, themed “Careers in International Organizations in Geneva and the EU,” was completed with great success for Greek standards!

The event brought together 17 experienced Greek professionals from International Organizations in Geneva, European Union institutions, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to advise and discuss with over 100 young students and professionals interested in similar careers.

The event began with brief greetings from:

  1. Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Greece in Geneva, Mr. Ioannis Gikas,
  2. Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Greece to the European Union, Mr. Ioannis Vrailas,
  3. Former Ambassador to the EU, founder and president of ALLILON, Mr. Angelos Pangratis.

Subsequently, the #speed_mentoring session took place, where young participants had the opportunity to engage in three group sessions with ALLILON mentors on topics related to job opportunities and their professional integration within the International Organizations in Geneva, European Union institutions, the private sector associated with these organizations, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs!

With approximately 90 young individuals in each group, the mentors had the chance to respond to numerous questions from the participants and guide them in a practical and helpful manner.

The event concluded with individual meetings between the young attendees and mentors, providing a unique opportunity for interested individuals to delve deeper into their professional future considerations!

The event was a true reflection of the spirit of solidarity and mutual support that ALLILON represents and a confirmation of the need and strong interest in professional networking and guidance between young and experienced Greek professionals, both in Greece and worldwide.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks:

  • to the Permanent Representation in Geneva and Ambassador Mr. Ioannis Gikas for the excellent cooperation,
  • to the Permanent Representation in Brussels and Ambassador Mr. Ioannis Vrailas for their ongoing support of ALLILON’s work,
  • and, of course, to the mentors for their valuable participation.
