On July 20, 2023, the ‘Local Change for Global Impact Summit 2023’ took place in collaboration with IdeaGen, the American Community School (ACS), and the Municipality of Central Corfu.
The first part of the summit was closed to the public and was held in the historic Ionian Parliament on 20/07, filmed by the American Community School (ACS), and will be broadcast by Ideagen in September 2023.
The final product of the summit will be the video that will be released by Ideagen in September 2023!
The event featured strong participation:
- From the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, with the presence of Mayor Ms. Meropi-Spyridoula Idratiou, Deputy Mayor Ms. Panagiota Tzanne, and the Municipality’s Scientific Associate, Mr. Victor Dimoulis.
- From the Ionian Islands Region represented by Ms. Krokidi.
- From the Ionian University with 7 professors!
The event began with a press conference with local television channels from Corfu, continued with greetings from the event organizers, and was followed by 5 panels featuring a total of 22 exceptional and experienced speakers!

In the second part, an online Speed Mentoring session was held in collaboration with the Ionian University on July 20 at 19:00. The topics of the group sessions were as follows:
- Employment and careers in the EU, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and NATO
- Employment and careers in the UN and other international organizations
- Job opportunities in the green economy and energy transition
- 2030: How the Metaverse disrupts business culture
Alongside the group sessions, individual sessions were also held with the 250 available mentors!
A total of 20 mentors and 60 students/young professionals/interested individuals participated in the Speed Mentoring sessions, both group and individual! In total, 165 Speed Mentoring sessions were conducted.
In the evening after the event, more than 35 speakers and organizers were invited to a restaurant in Corfu for a dinner, generously sponsored by Mr. Francis Chadwell, represented by Mr. Ioannis Stratakis.
